This is the haunt of a cavelier who has been seen standing by the fireplace in the area of the small bar. There is also the spirit of a man who committed suicide by hanging himself.

A young woman said to have been a nurse was killed outside the inn in a coaching accident. Her body was taken into the inn but her spirit is said to have remained and so she is thought to be responsible for the footsteps that have been heard and who switches out lights.

The ghost here is thought to be Lady Elizabeth Grey. She fell in love below her station and having stayed at the inn, attempted to elope with her lover only for their coach to crash into the lake where they both drowned. Elizabeth is said to have returned to the inn where footsteps have been heard along with doors slamming.
