Dartington Hall Devon
Now a hotel and conference centre. Several ghosts reside here.

Denbigh Castle Wales
The haunt of a ”Grey Lady” among others.

Derby Gaol Derbyshire
Everything you need to know is at the main link. The owner, Richard Felix claims to have had his own paranormal experiences here. Live webcams for Friends of Derby Gaol can now be viewed but I think it an uncalled for expense at £9.99 a month.

Dinefwr Wales
This is a National Trust property. A 12th century building which is the haunt of Lady Elinor who was murdered here. There have also been reported sightings of other ghosts.

Doddington Hall Lincolnshire
Many strange things have happened here, but the most famous ghost is of a girl who throws herself from the roof.

Dover Castle Kent
Maintained by English Heritage. The web page at Tour uk is worth a visit. It gives a brief history on the castle. The sounds of the past are often heard here, mainly the opening and closing of doors which have long been sealed over. A lady in a red dress has also been seen.

Drumlanrig Castle Scotland
Haunted by Lady Anne Douglas who carries her head in her hand. There is an insight into the history at Boughton House.

Dryburgh Abbey Scotland
The ruins are reputed to be haunted by the silent order of monks who once resided here. The nearby hotel is also said to be haunted, listed on the Scottish pages of Paranormal X Haunted Pubs and Hotels. About Scotland have an interesting page.

Dunham Massey Cheshire
A National Trust property, this 18th century house was restored at the beginning of the 20th century. There have been many sightings and accounts of paranormal phenomena.

Dunrobin Castle Scotland
In Sutherland, set in the northerly part of Scotland, this large castle has 189 rooms. The ghost here is said to be that of the 14th Earl’s daughter. Held prisoner by her father in the upper rooms, she tried to escape via a window, but instead fell to her death.

Dunstanburgh Castle Northumberland
Now in care of the National Trust, there is quite an unusual story to be found on Dunstanburgh Castle and its ruins at Haunted Britain.

Dunster Castle Somerset
In the care of the National Trust where footsteps have been heard, thought to be those of soldiers dating back to the Civil War. Halloween ghost tours are also available.

Duntulm Castle Scotland
This is a personal website for the history of the castle which is now in ruins, as well as a little on the haunting.

Dunvegan Castle Scotland
Situated on the Isle of Skye by Loch Dunvegan. Here there are tales of fairies and fairy folklore was taken very seriously. More a curiosity than a ghost is on display, being a fairy flag given to a member of the McLeod clan. A page on Chatelaine gives more on the history.
